Activity 5.6 Physical Property Analysis
In Activity 5.6, our teacher after teaching us about physical property analysis had us answer questions about density, volume, mass, and surface area of five different objects made of five different materials.

1. What do you need to know in order to perform a physical property analysis? In order to perform a physical property analysis I need to know the density, mass, volume, and surface area of the object.
2. Why is it important to understand the mathematics used in physical property analysis? It is important to understand the mathematics used in physical property analysis because if you don't understand the mathematics used in physical property analysis then you can't properly calculate the density, mass, volume, and surface area of the object that is being analyzed.
3. Why is it important to perform a physical property analysis prior to producing a part? It is important to perform a physical property analysis prior to producing a part in order to understand the physical properties of the object regardless of the material.
4. The clear enclosure piece and the wheels of the Automoblox are manufactured from polycarbonate. Do you think that the connector pieces are also manufactured from polycarbonate? Justify your answer. No, I do not think that the connector pieces are also manufactured from polycarbonate because they feel as if they were made of a different material than the the wheels and the clear enclosure piece and I believe that if I found the density of the connector pieces and then found the density of the wheels they would be of different values/amounts.
